Life's Purpose .... part 1

To have a meaningful life is knowing your purpose. These past few years I was thinking what God wants me to be. I always looked on others and compare myself to them. Asking myself why they have so many friends, how they cope up with the pressure while I’m very worried of getting things done, where do they get their strong will to make decision and holding on to what they believe in. Have you experience that kind of feeling?? These questions always popped up on my head and sometimes I wished that I could have that trait.
I have been reading Rick Warren’s book “The Purpose Driven Life”. I think you know this book. I heard so much about this when I was still in school. I longed of reading this book and tell if it is beautiful as the others say. It is 40 days devotional book about finding your purpose through Christ.

Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven life
Our purpose can be discovered through speculation or revelation. Speculations are peoples meaning of life and revelation are the purpose that are reveal to as by our Creator through our experiences. Just sighting this option makes me thing that revealing my purpose takes time and that I must be vigilant of what I do. Every day is another day; new experiences will uncover and mold us. Each of us has our own experiences because God made us unique in our own special ways. He created us because He wanted to. He knows every part of our body inside and out; how exactly it was made, bit by bit. God’s love is difficult to fathom, but it’s fundamentally reliable.

I am uniquely created by God. I came to realize that there are many things to be grateful for and that I must see all its beauty. I have grown up with many things on my mind. I always say ‘I wish I could have this and that’. I always look on the farthest side of the road without seeing the things I have in my hands. Now, I appreciate my parent’s love and how unconditional it is. Both of us, their daughters know how they strive to give us the best things they could afford. I really love to repay their goodness and I think that is one my purpose in life. It’s my driving force to do well and make them proud of me. Show them of what I have become after years of being with them.

Driving force. I think it also important to know what makes you live your life. God have given us the power to choose. He gave us that privilege since then; a privilege that we should take responsibility. There are people who live with guilt, resentment, anger, fear, materialism and others live to seek approval of others.  These feelings were made to teach us of what is more valuable to us.  Here are the two 2 crucial questions from the book that is really striking:

    1. What did you do with my Son, Jesus Christ?

  2. What did you do with what I gave you?

Answering this questions add up to my list of purpose. It would take me a lifetime to be able to answer this. It would take a lot of prayers! J
